Bird’s Eye View: Movie Studio
Make your cinematic debut an unforgettable one across the following points of interest around the park:
Stage 34 — Lower Level

Production is in full swing inside Stage 34, with several backgrounds set up for different scenes.
Get air off a ramp displaying the landscape of a distant planet, blacking out the images as you skate over them, and grind over a pair of monstrous tentacles writhing with lifelike motion.
Ramps line the ground floor, arrows pointing up challenging you to get high enough to reach the upper level. A crane, the tracks, and other lines make grinding a top priority between jumps, opening up the possibility for tight combos with a high multiplier.
Stage 34 — Upper Level

Things can get explosive on the upper level with flames erupting from the ramp next to the monster’s tentacles. The perilous walkways require precision and planning to remain up top, though ramps at the ends of the rails give you the chance to pop up and return with more speed to keep going back down the other side.
For a really sick trick, try ramping out toward the opening onto 3rd Street where a cable runs along the outside of the building. The cable gradually slopes down toward Avenue C, giving the momentum to keep the grind going.
3rd Street

Get creative down 3rd Street with its multitude of opportunities for different kinds of runs. Ramps flanking the inside borders offer air and speed pickups, with technical grinds on the outside including the cable grind noted above.
Rip it up under and around the beaming spaceship in the enclosed green screen ramp and grind the metal track for a smooth turn into Stage 34 or Avenue C. It’ll take some practice to connect the various lines; keep the action going and you’ll get the scene down pat in no time.
Avenue C

A ship spews green flames above Avenue C, where a corner grind ramp follows the line of buildings underneath the crash site. The track runs through the entire middle with ramps to the sides. The closeness of some of the ramps helps maximize your airtime, giving you the chance to hit air trick after air trick with limited downtime. Spine transfer from the ramp under the poster into Stage 34 and over the tentacles for an unrivaled cinematic sequence.
Avenue D

Pop off your best tricks for the spectators by the fence down Avenue D. With the Hollywood Sign in view, kick off your scene with a grind up the camera crane leading to the Stage 34 perimeter grind, another crane giving access to more railings on the other side.
A staircase and circular ramp offer entry inside Stage 34, and a variety of ramps down the sides of the avenues offer the chance to pick up speed and air to keep your combos rolling.
Pro Tips

1. Beat the heat: Movie Studio is the first competition park in the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4 Career Tour. In competitions, each participant skates three one-minute heats.
The sum of your two best heats represents your final score. Points are deducted for bails, and the top three skaters are awarded a medal. Good luck.
2. It’s all in the prep work. Movie Studio is full of various high score approaches that are guaranteed to boost your heat score in a competition run. With just a minute on the clock, it helps to plan your chain of attack beforehand. Load up Free Skate to get your bearings without the pressure of a timer. Work on a variety of air and grind tricks so you’re ready to flow when the competition begins.
3. Cable grind. You can really show off your skills by taking the time to perfect the epic grind beginning with the camera crane on Avenue D rising up to the run that wraps around the outer wall of Stage 34. This one’s sure to get the cameras rolling.
4. The long take. Movie Studio’s horseshoe design favors smooth, connected runs that flow seamlessly from area to area. As well as chaining tricks to boost your multiplier, focus on extending your runs for as long as possible, using the tightknit ramps, rails, and other obstacles to maintain momentum for the ultimate long take. Take advantage of the extensive ground rail for an easy floor grind and look for ways to get up high for access to the full park.
5. Roll camera. Who doesn’t want to share the spectacle of an air trick over explosive special effects like you can get in this park? Invite your friends to show off their best cinematic moves in Free Skate Multiplayer when the game launches this July. Show off your skills firsthand and become the next skating legend.
